This was a strange collections of sometimes inter-connected short stories. Some were very good others not. I struggle to know how to describe the genre, fantastical, steampunk-esque, contemporary and futuristic, with elements of history and documentary woven through. Sometimes funny, sometimes ludicrous, sometimes confusing and sometimes thought provoking. It was well written, and I found it was easy to read in small chunks of time, rather than a longer reading session.If you are looking for something different this might be worth trying. 3.5/5 stars for me

I received a copy of this book through TBC on FB in exchange for an honest review, so many thanks for the opportunity.
I haven't read any short stories since I was at school, so this was a refreshing change. A great variety of genres, which showcases Iain M Grant's versatility and competence as an author. Best to read in short bursts, this has something for everyone - spanning time, location and even the style of writing used! Subtly interlinked in some places and thought provoking, it was at times reminiscent of Cloud Atlas in short story form. I enjoyed some stories more than others, and some definitely left me wanting them to be developed into a whole book!
